Vinyl Sticker Sizes Explained: 100mm, 150mm, 200mm & 250mm

A sticker can look enormous on a product screen and surprisingly small once it is on a car, window, laptop or other surface. Measuring the real space before ordering is much more reliable than judging scale from a phone screen.
Depending on the Sticktopus range, vinyl stickers can be available in sizes from Extra Small (100mm) through Small (150mm), Medium (200mm) and Large (250mm). Not every specialist range uses all four sizes, so always check the options shown on the individual product.
The listed measurement refers to the main overall dimension used for that design. Exact height varies with the proportions of the artwork, so a long slogan and a compact animal graphic will not have identical dimensions even when both are listed as 150mm.
100mm: compact Extra Small
100mm is about 10cm. This newer Extra Small option is available on selected general-purpose designs, including Sticker Vault products, where a compact decal makes sense.
It can work well on smaller laptop areas, bottles, narrow windows, toolboxes and other smooth surfaces where 150mm would feel too large. Simple silhouettes and bold graphics generally scale down more successfully than designs containing lots of very fine detail.
150mm: small and versatile
150mm is about 15cm. It is a useful size for smaller side or quarter windows, compact areas of bodywork and general-purpose placement where you want the sticker to be noticeable without dominating the surface.
If the design contains a lot of lettering, remember that reducing the overall width also reduces every letter. Moving up a size can improve readability from farther away.
200mm: the balanced all-rounder
200mm is about 20cm. For many car-window applications this sits in a useful middle ground: large enough to make a design easy to notice while still fitting comfortably on a wide range of vehicles.
If you are unsure where to start, mark a 20cm line on the intended surface with masking tape. Stand back and look at it from the angle you would normally see the sticker.
250mm: bolder and easier to notice
250mm is about 25cm. The Large option gives slogans and graphics more presence and can make text easier to read at a distance.
It suits larger rear windows, vans, broader panels and layouts where the decal is intended to be a focal point. Check nearby wipers, window edges, handles, trim and strong curves before ordering.
Measure the usable space, not the whole surface
A rear window might be much wider than 250mm, but not every part of it is suitable. The usable area can be reduced by:
- Wiper sweep
- Strong curvature
- Heating elements or printed borders
- Existing stickers
- Driver visibility
- Bodywork creases, handles and trim
Use masking tape to mark out the size you are considering. This gives you a much better sense of the finished scale before you buy.
Should you size up for lettering or fine detail?
Often, yes. A short bold phrase can remain clear at a smaller size, while a longer sentence needs to fit more characters into the same width. Detailed graphics also gain more breathing room at larger sizes.
If a design is mainly decorative and viewed close-up, Extra Small or Small may be ideal. If you want a slogan or detailed graphic to be obvious from behind a car, Medium or Large may be the better choice.
Inside or outside a window?
Most standard cut-vinyl decals are fitted to the outside of clean glass. If you want a design applied inside a window and read correctly from outside, choose a reverse-cut option where available rather than assuming a standard sticker can simply be flipped.
Choose the design, then confirm the space
Pick the design you want, decide where it will go and physically measure that location. Different Sticktopus ranges use different size sets because a wheelie-bin character, dog window sticker and general Sticker Vault design do not all need the same choices.
