Holographic Car Stickers: A Practical Guide

Holographic vinyl is the option for people who do not want the decal to look exactly the same from every angle. Its colour and highlights shift as the light or viewing position changes, giving a cut design much more movement than a flat solid colour.

What holographic means here

The effect comes from the visual finish of the vinyl. It should not automatically be confused with specialist road-sign reflective material. Choose holographic because you like the colour-shifting appearance, not because you are relying on it as a safety reflector.

Where holographic vinyl stands out

Simple bold lettering and recognisable shapes tend to show the effect clearly. Rear glass, quarter glass and smooth body panels can all work when they are suitable for vinyl and the design has enough contrast around it.

A holographic decal can look restrained in one lighting condition and much brighter in another. That variability is part of the point. If you want the most consistent appearance possible, a solid colour may be a better choice.
